SheaLo Hair Mask

I needed to find something for dry hair and stumbled across an article on Shealo Hair Mask.  It is a blend of Shea Butter, Aloe Vera Juice and some other goodness.
Although it's labelled as Hair Mask it can also be used for styling hair and is great on your skin.

1/2 cup Shea Butter
1/4 cup Aloe Vera Juice
2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
3-5 drops Tea Tree Oil
1 tsp Honey
5 drops of Vitamin E Oil

  1. Melt Shea Butter with Coconut Oil
  2. Add Honey and stir gently
  3. Add Aloe Vera
  4. Mix using a mixer
  5. When mixture is cooled add Tea Tree and Vitamin E
  6. Whip then chill in the fridge
Please note this recipe has NO preservatives so it will not keep longer than a couple of weeks.  Keep in the fridge to extend life.

I will be looking for another recipe with better shelf life but it may take a little while to find one.  In the meantime this is perfect.

The texture is very light and the aloe juice doesn't blend into the oil but seems to sit in between.  You can see a little sitting on the surface in the picture above.

Now the funny thing is it was almost impossible to find instructions on how to actually find instructions on how to use this as a mask.  I finally tracked down these instructions...

Apply and leave on for at least 15mins

Yep that one line is it!  My suggestion is to leave it in for as long as you want but the minimum for any benefit would be 15 minutes.

For my hair I will be doing this once a month.
